Immersive camps in aviation and aeronautics.
Air Camp offers hands-on STEM aviation experiences that inspire students and teachers to explore the exciting world of flight. Students do not just learn about aviation, they experience it firsthand through flight training, real-world engineering challenges, virtual reality simulations, and collaborative problem-solving activities.
Overnight resident programs are available for students entering grades 7–12. These multi-day camps combine immersive STEM aviation learning with exciting activities such as piloting a single-engine aircraft under the guidance of a certified instructor, exploring drones and other emerging technologies, and completing team engineering challenges. Campers stay in university dorms and spend 12–15 hours per day fully immersed in aviation and aeronautics.
For students entering grades 4–6, Air Camp offers day and short-term camps that introduce the physics of flight and the science of aeronautics through interactive, hands-on modules at aviation-related sites across Dayton. Students build curiosity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while discovering how STEM aviation connects to real-world careers.
Teachers are not left out. Teachers Air Camp provides professional development for K–12 educators, giving them the chance to engage in STEM aviation activities, flight training, and classroom-ready resources. Teachers have the option of lodging at a designated hotel and receive meals, flight suits, and official Air Camp materials to bring the excitement of aviation back to their students.
