{"id":2952,"date":"2019-01-10T09:50:30","date_gmt":"2019-01-10T14:50:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.aviationheritagearea.org\/?p=2952"},"modified":"2019-01-10T09:50:30","modified_gmt":"2019-01-10T14:50:30","slug":"naha-supports-national-museum-family-fun-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/visitnaha.com\/naha-supports-national-museum-family-fun-day\/","title":{"rendered":"NAHA supports National Museum&#039;s Family Fun Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>DAYTON\u2014The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aviationheritagearea.org\">National Aviation Heritage Area<\/a> will support the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalaviation.org\">National Aviation Hall of Fame<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalmuseum.af.mil\/\">National Museum of the United States Air Force<\/a> at a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalmuseum.af.mil\/Upcoming\/Press-Room\/News\/Article-Display\/Article\/1726501\/governor-elect-dewine-to-participate-in-air-force-hosted-stem-event-on-jan-13\/\">Science, Discovery and Family Fun Day<\/a> on Sunday, Jan. 13.<br \/>\nOhio Governor-Elect <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mikedewine.com\/\">Mike DeWine<\/a> and his wife Fran will join Maj. Gen. William Cooley, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wpafb.af.mil\/afrl\/\">Air Force Research Laboratory<\/a> Commander, at the event. Running from 1 to 4 p.m., it will be free and open to the public. It will feature interactive science and technology displays and demonstrations, musical performances and more.<br \/>\nThe National Aviation Hall of Fame, co-located with the National Museum, is partnering with National Aviation Heritage Area partners <a href=\"https:\/\/aircampusa.com\">Air Camp<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.champaignaviationmuseum.org\/\">Champaign Aviation Museum<\/a> and Aviation Trail Inc.\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aviationtrailinc.org\/parachute-museum\">Parachute Museum<\/a> to have STEM related activities for children of all ages in the Hall of Fame\u2019s Learning Center. The Hall of Fame is also partnering with the <a href=\"https:\/\/cosi.org\/\">Center of Science and Industry<\/a> (COSI) to provide STEM activities.<br \/>\nScheduled events for Family Fun Day include opening remarks at 1 p.m.; demonstrations and displays beginning at 1:20 p.m.; performances by the Air Force Band of Flight at 1:45 p.m.; the <a href=\"https:\/\/ohiostatefair.com\/band-choir\/\">All-Ohio State Fair Youth Choir<\/a> at 2:30 p.m., and an interactive animal encounter presented by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.columbuszoo.org\">Columbus Zoo and Aquarium<\/a> at 3 p.m.<br \/>\nScheduled STEM demonstrations include robotics, virtual reality, flight simulation, wind tunnel, rocketry, optics, fuel cells, engineering structures and scanning electron microscopes.
