WACO Education Center & Air Museum
Golden Age of Aviation.
The WACO Education Center & Air Museum continues to celebrate the Golden Age of Aviation with numerous aircraft and a 2,400 foot grass airstrip (1WF). You can experience an open cockpit flight on one of two flying aircraft.
The museum currently exhibits ten aircraft including a 1919 “Cootie” replica (the first aircraft produced by WACO), a 1921 Model 4 replica, a 1927 Model 9 “Miss McKeesport”, a 1928 WACO Model 10, a 1929 WACO ATO Taperwing, a 1930 NAZ Primary glider, a 1934 UMF 5, a 1936 YKS-6 cabin, and a 1940 RPT.
WACO factory artifacts, a collection of engines and propellers, displays featuring the Civil Air Patrol during WWII, Women of WACO, and the military CG4A Glider tell the complete history of the WACO Aircraft Company. A glider theatre offers World War II footage of the glider in action.
