Golden Age of Aviation.
The WACO Air Museum continues to celebrate the Golden Age of Aviation with numerous aircraft and a 2,400 foot grass airstrip (1WF). You can experience an open cockpit flight on one of two flying aircraft.
The museum currently exhibits ten aircraft including a 1919 “Cootie” replica (the first aircraft produced by WACO), a 1921 Model 4 replica, a 1927 Model 9 “Miss McKeesport”, a 1928 WACO Model 10, a 1929 WACO ATO Taperwing, a 1930 NAZ Primary glider, a 1934 UMF 5, a 1936 YKS-6 cabin, and a 1940 RPT.
WACO factory artifacts, a collection of engines and propellers, displays featuring the Civil Air Patrol during WW II, Women of WACO, and the military CG4A Glider tell the complete history of the WACO Aircraft Company. A glider theatre offers World War II footage of the glider in action.
